It’s time for a volunteer spotlight! This month, we want to give recognition to the amazing work of volunteer provider Matt Benish, PA-C. Matt began volunteering at CCFC in 2019 because he believes that healthcare is a right, saying “people without insurance should have access to healthcare”. He enjoys being able to help patients feel better and working alongside the “remarkable” people of CCFC.
Matt has severe to profound hearing loss, and he uses lipreading to augment his other senses. Because of his disability, he wasn’t sure if he would be able to become a healthcare provider. Today, with advancements in technology and the encouragement of his peers, he says “I am doing what I absolutely love.”
