Position #1: CCFC COVID Coordinator

The COVID Coordinator is a one year, 30 hour/week position serving under and reporting to the Nurse Manager, and indirectly to the Board of Directors. Duties will primarily include activities relating to the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out initiative. In this role, the COVID Coordinator will be responsible for establishing a vaccination protocol at the clinic’s main location and the mobile clinic. Additionally, the COVID Coordinator will organize vaccine outreach activities in the surrounding areas. This is an extraordinary opportunity for individuals who are passionate about serving underserved and uninsured individuals of Southwestern Wisconsin.

Responsibilities:

COVID-19 Vaccination Program

  • Complete the application process for the clinic to become a vaccine provider
    • Complete application for the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR)
    • Receive a PIN for the vaccine
  • Develop policies and procedures for administering the COVID-19 vaccine at the clinic and at farms
    • Collaborate with local health departments such as the Lafayette County and Iowa County Health Department for guidance
  • Review all Wisconsin Department of Health Services COVID-19 Vaccine trainings
  • Attend any new trainings released from the DHS or other organizations, as deemed fit by the Nurse Manager
  • Attend weekly webinars from the DHS
  • Maintain an accurate record of COVID vaccines received and administered
  • Develop a system to track vaccine related data and update the WIR
  • Order and manage supplies and equipment to store the COVID-19 vaccine
    • Ensure a viable stock of necessary accessories needed to administer the vaccine
  • Promote the COVID-19 vaccine and related clinic events on CCFC’s social media platforms at least weekly at least monthly OR coordinate with other volunteers/staff to coordinate social media campaigns
    • Track social media metrics to find areas of improvement
    • Remain up to date on COVID-19 vaccine media materials from trusted sources such as:
      • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
      • Wisconsin Department of Health Services
  • Organize at least monthly community forums in Iowa, Lafayette and Grant Counties
    • Collaborate with health departments in these counties to coordinate these events
    • Prepare or collect culturally appropriate resources, regarding the vaccine, for these events
  • Develop and plan for additional vaccine outreach activities as needed

Staff and Volunteer Management:

  • Develop COVID-19 vaccine administration training materials for staff and volunteers of CCFC
  • Develop vaccine outreach training materials for staff and volunteers
  • Oversee training of volunteers/staff for vaccinating patients at the clinic and at farm sites
  • Maintain an accurate record of volunteer hours related to vaccination or community engagement
  • Recruit volunteers to assist with vaccine outreach or administration

Free Clinic on Wheels Vaccine Clinics:

  • Attend all Free Clinic on Wheels (FCOW) events and coordinate vaccine administration at the farms or other sites
  • Collaborate with the local health departments about vaccine administration

Qualifications:

Specific requirements include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience in healthcare setting preferred
  • Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models, and selecting and successfully operationalizing innovative programs
  • Experience having worked with in a non-profit setting preferred
  • Ability to delegate to and supervise staff and volunteers.
  • Spanish speaking skills is a plus

Hours:

Weekly Schedule: 30 hours/week

  • Monday: 10 AM – 4 PM = 6 hours
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 12 PM – 8 PM = 16 Hours
  • Wednesdays and Fridays: 10 AM – 2 PM = 8 Hours

FCOW Farm Visit: 10 AM – 4 PM = 6 hours/month

  • These hours are approximated and maybe adjusted according to FCOW needs

Salary and Benefits:

Salary:

  • $29/hr, 30 hr/wk (Full-Time Equivalent)

Position #2: Part-time RN or LPN

Community Connections Free Clinic (CCFC) is seeking a part time RN or LPN to add to the paid, permanent staff and assist with direct patient care and clinic operations. This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate who wants to work in an environment committed to caring for underserved people.  The environment fosters growth, creativity, collaboration and fun.  Hours are flexible and will usually include at least one clinic evening on Tuesday and/or Thursday.

CCFC is a nonprofit organization providing free medical care to uninsured individuals who cannot obtain services in other ways.  Clients of all ages are welcome.  Most come from Iowa, Grant, and Lafayette Counties and many speak Spanish as their primary language.  

Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical support to CCFC patients at our clinic site in Dodgeville and at selected community sites.
  • Manage volunteers at the clinic
  • Serve as the back-up to the clinic’s Nurse Manager.

Qualifications:

Specific requirements include:

  • Licensed to work as an RN in the state of Wisconsin
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience in healthcare setting preferred
  • Ability to delegate to and supervise staff and volunteers.
  • Spanish speaking skills is a plus

Hours

Weekly Schedule: 16 hours/week

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays: 12 PM – 8 PM = 16 Hours
